Full Circle

Last week was a rough week....we started the week great with Monday off work.  Great family time, just hanging out at home.  Monday night at 11:51 Maddox woke up and NEVER went back to sleep.  Jason and I both took her to the doctor fearing that she had the flu, RSV or strep.  I never thought I would say this but thank goodness it was just a bad ear infection.  Those of you who knew Jason or I growing up, this should be no surprise.  We were both blessed with pretty bad ears as children.  Jason took off Wednesday to stay home with her, it was a great Daddy/Daughter day, Maddox was feeling much better.

Tuesday night I got a phone call from my Dad in Dallas, he told me that my 95 year old Nana (grandmother) was not doing well and her caretaker and angel, Mona, and the home health nurses didn't think she would make it very much longer.  My Dad headed to Lubbock, to see her. On Wednesday my Dad held her as she took her last breath.  I will miss my Nana, but who can really complain about 95 years of life?  She lived a wonderful life, she was an angel here on earth and I know that I now have another Angel in Heaven.  It was a great service and we got to see some family I haven't seen in a while.  I know my Nana was smiling down on all of us as she stood next to my Grandpa, whom she hadn't seen in 45 years, almost to the day.

On Thursday we got a phone call from our good friends, Brandon and Lauren.  They told us that their portfolio for adopting was being presented to a birth mom.  Friday night we got the phone call that they had been selected as the parents and could pick up their baby boy, Thomas, on Saturday morning.   Of course, Jason and I were so ecstatic and cannot wait to meet him.

It is just amazing how God reminds us that he will take care of everything if we will hand it over.  I needed to see the full circle of life.  I lost a very important person in my life, but our friends gained a little boy who they have been praying for, for a very long time.
